GAIA Information Technology and 104 Corporation Partner to Build a Next-Generation Cybersecurity Platform with Google Chronicle

104 Corporation has partnered with GAIA Information Technology to leverage Google Chronicle, a powerful, cloud-native SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solution known for its quick deployment, competitive pricing, and robust features. This collaboration enables 104 Corporation to build a high-performance cybersecurity platform that safeguards the personal data of millions of job seekers and employers.

In today’s dynamic digital landscape, managing security threats and risks is essential for business continuity. Organisations face challenges such as an overwhelming volume and variety of log data, which can lead to alert fatigue and slow threat response. Hackers are becoming more sophisticated, often remaining undetected within corporate systems for weeks or even months. To counter these threats, businesses need effective log analysis and real-time threat investigation as a foundation for strong cybersecurity strategies. Google Chronicle provides 365-day log retention and high-speed analysis, empowering businesses to quickly detect and mitigate potential attacks while maintaining a comprehensive view of their security posture.

Google’s Chronicle cloud-native solution was chosen by 104 Job Bank for its rapid and easy deployment, highly competitive pricing, and powerful features.

by Lin Shang-Da, Senior Cybersecurity Manager at 104 Corporation

Q: How does 104 Corporation leverage SIEM solutions to build a trusted cloud service for job seekers and employers?

Lin Shang-Da: 104 Corporation manages the personal data of millions of members and users. Each resume contains a large amount of sensitive and private information, making it a prime target for hackers. This is why data security and privacy protection are core priorities in our operations.

To ensure this, we continuously monitor external threat intelligence and adopt next-generation cybersecurity solutions. At the same time, we follow international security frameworks and national cybersecurity guidelines to establish a robust internal security organisation and dedicated response team. Through a multi-layered defence strategy, we work to proactively prevent data breaches and protect user privacy.

For example, our “Enterprise Master” cloud-based HR management system offers SMEs a comprehensive set of tools, including time and attendance tracking, HR form approvals, automated payroll processing, and scheduling management. These solutions help businesses increase HR efficiency, reduce manual administrative work, and improve team collaboration.

Because the system stores highly sensitive information, such as employee personal data and salary details, data security is of utmost importance. We enforce encryption for both data storage and transmission, require all development to comply with secure software development lifecycle standards, and mandate rigorous security testing before any release. This ensures we deliver a secure, reliable HR management platform to our clients.

In addition, the logs generated across our infrastructure are enormous. These include logs from on-premises systems — such as servers, DNS, firewalls, and Windows hosts — as well as cloud logs from O365, EDR, and more.

Traditional commercial SIEM solutions charge based on storage capacity, making it extremely costly to retain a full year’s worth of log data. Meanwhile, open-source solutions often struggle to handle the scale and complexity of such data, leading to high computing resource demands, operational challenges, and even risks like unstable performance or data loss.

Google Chronicle, as a cloud-native solution, addressed all of these pain points. Its rapid deploymentcost-effective user-based pricing, and powerful, scalable features made it the clear choice for 104 Corporation, enabling us to manage our growing security needs efficiently and reliably.

Chronicle can be seamlessly integrated with Google Cloud services such as Looker and BigQuery, enabling advanced data analysis and visualisation to deliver businesses with optimal Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

by Oliver Wu, CEO of GAIA Information Technology

Q: How does GAIA Information Technology view the advantages of Google’s Chronicle cloud service?

Oliver Wu: With years of first-hand experience in enterprise cybersecurity and cloud operations services, GAIA Information Technology strongly recommended the Chronicle solution to meet 104 Corporation’s requirements for building a robust cloud-based platform.

One of the key reasons is its exceptional cost-effectiveness. Compared to other well-known SIEM and log management platforms in Taiwan, Chronicle offers a superior balance of features and pricing. GAIA, as an authorised reseller of Chronicle in Taiwan, recognised its ability to not only collect and analyse daily security logs but also provide valuable insights into security trends, helping businesses prevent potential risks and threats before they escalate.

Google Cloud’s greatest advantage lies in its rapid deployment capabilities. Leveraging its vast cloud storage and high-speed processing power, Chronicle eliminates the constraints of traditional storage-based pricing. Instead, its licensing model is based on the number of users, allowing companies to clearly understand and manage costs in a transparent, predictable way.

With Chronicle, businesses can:

  • Deploy the system within hours, rather than days or weeks

  • Manage petabyte-scale storage seamlessly

  • Perform fast and accurate data searches

Furthermore, Chronicle integrates directly with Google Cloud services like Looker and BigQuery, enabling advanced data analysis and visualisation. This end-to-end integration provides companies with a comprehensive Business Intelligence (BI) solution, without the need for additional data migration or duplication.

The result is a streamlined, unified architecture that simplifies operations and reduces complexity, empowering businesses to focus on actionable insights and strategic decision-making.

"104 Corporation uses Chronicle to create dashboards for daily operations, enabling investigations and analyses to be completed in just minutes instead of hours — delivering highly satisfying results."

Q: How does 104 Corporation maximise the value and effectiveness of the Chronicle solution within the company?

Lin Shang-Da: 104 Corporation uses Chronicle to create dashboards and visual displays that support daily cybersecurity operations and monitoring.

This is especially valuable when dealing with a large volume of security alerts, whether from international cybersecurity organisations or major incident reports issued by TWCERT.

With Chronicle, investigations and analysis that once took hours can now be completed in just minutes. This allows the team to:

  • Quickly track and identify security threat patterns within the company

  • Promptly activate incident response procedures

  • Significantly enhance overall operational efficiency and threat mitigation

▲ Jerry Chen, Business Manager at GAIA Information Technology, and Lin Shang-Da, Senior Cybersecurity Manager at 104 Corporation, look forward to taking their collaboration to the next level.

Q: How does GAIA Information Technology work with 104 Corporation to create a successful Chronicle implementation?

Oliver: In observing how 104 Corporation has adopted Chronicle, we’ve seen them expand its use beyond cybersecurity operations to include network management and software product development teams.

Looking ahead, 104 Corporation plans to leverage Chronicle’s API integrations to connect with SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) systems. By implementing standardised workflows and automated scripts, they aim to accelerate internal incident reporting and response processes, boosting the efficiency and productivity of their security teams.

GAIA Information Technology plays a key role by providing 24/7 technical support and consulting services, and acting as a bridge between 104 Corporation and Google Cloud’s technical service teams. This ensures smooth communication and integration, enabling Chronicle to deliver rapid, measurable benefits for both 104 Corporation’s cybersecurity and network management teams.
